Welcome to AK Collaborative, where we are dedicated to serving and empowering immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and BIPOC communities in Lewiston and Auburn, Maine. We understand that these communities face multiple challenges and barriers in accessing crucial services, such as limited English language skills, systemic discrimination, past traumas, cultural barriers, and difficulty navigating new systems.
We are proud to be among the organizations and individuals who work tirelessly to help these communities meet their needs.
However, we know that more needs to be done to address the root causes of these challenges and barriers, such as systemic discrimination and cultural barriers. That's why we work closely with policymakers, community leaders, and individuals from all sectors of society to create a more equitable and inclusive society for all. We believe that access to education, healthcare, housing, food, and economic opportunities is essential for these communities to thrive and succeed.

About Us
The AK Collaborative is a group of Immigrant lead nonprofit organizations that are working together to address community-focused economic barriers, environmental factors, and social networks as key determinants of health, build community-wide trust of the AK Collaborative by increasing knowledge of all services provided by the members of the collaborative, reduce the community’s unique barriers and challenges, Improve community infrastructure through assessments, develop a consistent, community-wide leadership voice, reduce the community’s unique barriers and challenges and address systemic barriers.
